Pretty good season winning both OD and FC leagues. Mid table finish in BT20.

5 bowlers not quite enough and the U21 international Shore coming through as the sixth bowler to give the other five an occasional rest.

Lashings were 3rd going into the last OD game of the season but equal on points with teams 3rd to 5th. The top 2 were four points ahead.

Could finish 1st to 6th depending on my result and others. Had the advantage of a superior NRR but disadvantage that Lashings were playing one of the top two.

So beat the top team, just, and the 2nd team lost too. Because of my better NRR won the 2nd level league!

Lashings played off for promotion to the top 1st division in West Indies. Problem was this team looked on paper far better

Lashings set over 300 (314) even though lost wickets continually. In response they did well and looked like they would win but we’re always behind the run rate. They needed 18 off the last over and got 17 so I won by 1 run!

GCK completes successful season

Gill’s Cheeky Kitties met or exceeded every objective after last season’s triple promotion.

GCK finished first in First-Class cricket, securing another title and promotion. The One-Day side achieved its Top 4 target, while the BT20 team exceeded expectations by finishing sixth.

Gill's Cheeky Kitties rose to the challenge of new divisions by winning one and competing in the others.

“We challenged the team to prove that we belonged at a higher level. Winning the FC division, and finishing 4th and 6th across the shorter formats shows the progress we have made, and that we belong.

Our younger players continued to develop, the squad became stronger and our standards continue to rise.”

GCK now turns its attention to another season of growth and competition.

In accordance with the clubs charter and with the total support of all our supporters and staff, St Richards shall henceforth only field players who have been promoted from our Youth Academy. We will no longer be buying outside players.

All started their careers at Lashings as 17 year old youngsters and now 37 have pending benefit year and retirement

Gill's Cheeky Kitties' are set for new challenges against new teams in all formats. GM Dhara set out team expectations for the upcoming season.

"It's exciting to promote into new divisions. We have a balanced team, and want to perform competitively and show we belong.

In the FC league, respecting the opposition, I've challenged the players to dominate and add this trophy to our cabinet.

The OD and BT20 divisions are filled with strong, experienced teams. We want to stay up in both formats.

The OD goal is a Top 4 finish.
The BT20 goal is a Top 8 result.

A strong Cup run would improve familiarity with BT's Global standards. A deep run would certainly help the coffers.

With four youngsters in advanced training, we're looking to improve as the season progresses."

Gill’s Cheeky Kitties completed a flawless OD season (14–0), defeating division rival Quokkas twice in a campaign that showcased both dominance and development. Early in the season, GCK dismantled Quokkas for 116 before chasing it down in just 13.3 overs - an early signal of the gap in quality. By season’s end, that gap had widened: a commanding 418–2, led by Fennema (219), Symes (103), and Sumner (67), underlined the team’s evolution into a complete unit.

Symes (918 runs, 5 centuries) cemented himself at #2, stepping seamlessly into the role after McGuire’s departure, while Sumner (739, 4 centuries) provided elite support. Captain Dewdney led the attack with 40 wickets and 2 fivers, alongside Knowles’ 35 wickets.

GCK didn’t just win - they grew into a powerhouse.

Gill’s Cheeky Kitties completed a dominant FC season, winning all 10 matches to secure the Division title.

The batting unit led from the front, with Sumner (1407 runs, 8 centuries) and Symes (1179 runs, 7 centuries) delivering elite performances - and Symes cementing himself at #2. The bowling attack was equally clinical: Knowles led with 42 wickets (3 five-fors), Denning added 37, while Kordella’s 32 wickets in just 3 matches highlighted veteran class.

Captain Dhara praised the squad’s growth and composure in the longest format. Undefeated, unbothered, - and already eyeing the next challenge.

The Shadow Clan marked a historic milestone by securing their first-ever medal, finishing third with a strong victory over Victory Vipers. In a match filled with determination and grit, The Shadow Clan held their nerve and delivered a composed performance when it mattered most.

The team showcased excellent coordination, disciplined gameplay, and a fighting spirit that set them apart. This win not only earned them a well-deserved podium finish but also highlighted their growth and potential as a competitive unit.

Achieving third place is more than just a result—it’s a breakthrough moment for TSC, laying the foundation for greater success ahead and inspiring confidence for future challenges. A proud achievement that will motivate them to aim even higher in the tournaments to come.

After Warbird elected to bat, GCK’s bowlers showed discipline on an uneven surface. Despite conceding 23 in the opening over, the attack regrouped quickly, took key wickets, and controlled the middle overs to restrict the division’s most dominant side to 170/3.

In response, openers Norton (77*) and Symes (86*, MOTM) produced a masterclass in pressure cricket, carrying their bats in the club’s biggest win of the season.

Highly rated young batter Iain Cox starred for Canada U19s to help them beat the Windies home and away to clinch the title.
After another brilliant century in the first game to help them set a record score he fell for 31 in the second match but the team won the critical second game anyway. Speaking after the game Iain heaped praised on the group saying 'the team, management and backroom staff have been magnificent and that is what gave us the edge in the key moments'.
