If cricket had a heartbeat, it would’ve stopped several times on Saturday afternoon — because the Free State Cheetahs pulled off what can only be described as a resurrection. After another dismal season after the near bankruptcy and selling up of almost the entire season, The Bazookas relegated in FC, OD and BT20. The once mighty franchise will now dwell in Div3 next season, although with transfer prices at an all time low, the rebuild is happening quicker than expected.

Did well to survive in our first season of FC Div V. Hope we can stay up again.

Felt we could have done better in T20, but top half is perfectly acceptable.

We were facing relegation in SOD, but finished 4th! A couple of teams fell away to the end, it's going to be interesting next season.

Good Cup run. Happy with that. Good season overall.

Young seamers Kamal and Hom made their debuts, with Kamal currently in contention for BD U-19. Ahmed, Ali and Sharif continued to develop well. Alam was a class above the rest with the bat.

Sinclair continues as First XI captain, with 18 YO Kamal appointed VC.

Johannesburg recovered from a poor S64, winning two divisions. They need to get through a promotion playoff in the OD League though.

In the OD season, Wijck 642 just edged Dugdale for top scorer. A similar result in FC where Wijck 1068 outscored Dugdale 971, with Imran 863 also playing well. In the bash, Wijck edged Dugdale 696-615 and took the triple crown across the three formats.

Payne and Cerff were leading wicket takers in OD and Duane Roopnarine took an excellent 43 in the FC game. Nobody took 5 wickets in the bash.

Wijck’s remarkably consistent batting gave him his 2nd POTY award.

The Plettenberg Bay Irons ended their season on a high, securing One Day promotion in the final game – and it was youngster Aidan Hargreaves who stole the spotlight.

The left-arm medium pacer returned 1-29 from seven overs before guiding the side home with an unbeaten 56 – his second successive half-century since joining from Lanner FC in June.

At just 17, Hargreaves is already attracting attention, with West Indies U19 scouts tracking his progress.

His ability to deliver with both bat and ball under pressure has marked him out as one of the brightest prospects from the West Indies and in South African club cricket.

Manager DaveyCricket said: “He’s got everything in his locker to make a top player – technically sound, mentally tough, and hungry to learn.”

Finally Hmmmm reached their goal of most successful South African team in Battrick history with their latest double winning season.

The Legion held their Season 65 awards ceremony last night to recognize a strong season for the club and for the players. Legion finished 4th in their FC division, 3rd in their OD division, and 5th in their BT20 division. They made it to round 5 in the SA Cup.

Just been promoted to FC Div IV in SA.
I've not been this high before but am expecting a difficult season ahead.
Funds are very limited so cannot afford to buy (I could buy but would struggle with the associated high wages and not doing well will affect confidence and gate receipts)
So, it's fingers crossed for a fair wind and maybe teams that are also struggling to balance their books.

It had been suggested that gold membership would have certain advantages that have not transpired. We still lose prolifically, and the expected Kree fighters to enable me to conquer the world have not materialised. I am, however, setting up my three teams so that l can have Battrick available for up to 17 hours a day, as I don’t have a life, obviously.
World domination is no closer, however.

It's the end of the team as we know it. Still 4th in Pakistan, still fighting, but the financial state of the club is untenable now that the transfer market has crashed.
The management are reluctantly downsizing and building back from the bottom.
It is the end of an era.

In an effort to improve the playing XI Border Power signed Nigel DeSouza to strengthen their bowling line up. They also improved at the keeper by signing Graham Spies. Lastly, to strengthen the batting lineup, the Power signed Theophillus Kuria. This should help the Power continue up the South African, and world rankings.

A season after being forced to sell the entire 1st XI, Brads Bazookas have taken the first steps in the arduous rebuild. The club has purchased 17yo spin bowler Ray Charlton (nephew of club Hall of Famer, Justin Charlton) and also former fast bowling trainee Marcus Ducros has been bought back to finish his training at the club. Bazookas are rumoured to be looking at bringing in a young batsman to begin training shortly.

Two 17 year olds are being netted before Lions get into full swing with the youth pulls. Looking for five new youngsters to join the original 2, making seven in training.

Did well to avoid relegation in a strong OD League, and won the Play-Off comfortably to stay up.

FC league was a formality, the division was full of unmanaged teams. Allowed us to rest players for OD. Fitness levels may be an issue next season, but Alam will be available full time.

Decent Cup Run and BT20 is irrelevant.

Alam had a stellar U19 season. Smedley, Siebritz, Ahmed and Ali all continued to develop. Jahurul Sharif emerged as a decent young batting prospect.
