A very successful night for Len Ince. He takes home the Shadbolt Trophy as well as the runner up trophy in all 3 formats. Incredible effort and so close to taking home the winner of all trophies just 1 point shy in FC and BT20 and 2 points shy in OD. It’s also his third straight Shadbolt Trophy he has won. Justin Rischitelli was a joint winner last season for the Shadbolt trophy. Rischitelli goes back to back winning the Elliot Broome OD trophy.

Brads Bashers has concluded Season 67 with its annual Awards Night at the Justin Otsemobor pavilion after another solid season. Bashers won the OD Div2 title, finished a creditable 4th in FC, and a slightly disappointing 9th in BT20. The year was highlighted by the following performances.

Ashcombe’s inaugural season has laid the foundation for a future defined by growth and belief in the journey ahead. It focused on nurturing emerging talent with academy standouts Jared Brumwell and Anoma Tilakarathna showing potential, while experienced recruits like imposing opener William Bennett provided valuable direction.

Leading from the front, captain Tyler Zonke received the first Club Champion award. The 32-year-old spinner delivered across all formats, claiming 35 First Class wickets @ 7.60, excelling in Twenty20 with his superior economical bowling, and adding 23 One Day league scalps.

BB Hills today announces the retirement of Bob Tsimba.

Bob Tsimba was one of the best batsman to play for our club. He is our top run scorer (15467), and also has the most centuries (62), most sixes (242), and best strike rate (131.87). But he is most well known for his long stint on the Australian national team, for which he is the most capped player (196). He was also their third highest run scorer (8362), had the fourth highest number of centuries (25), and the tenth highest individual score (170). Additionally, by winning player of the season in Season 59, he made possible the creation of our English franchise club BB Oxon, whose ground is named in his honour.

With Bob’s retirement, BB Hills’ long tenure as a farm team has come to an end. The rebuild begins next season.

Stay's mum said he had it going on and today she was right. A brilliant 153 not out from only 115 balls saw Fanie climax with a last ball 6 to send the Heroes into Round 9 of the Australian Cup for the first time. He was supported by Arrigan who scored a run a ball 85, with the others all chipping in.

It is expected that we won't progress past Round 9, but this has been a hell of a romp so far in Season 67.

Westies Cricket Club demolished The Easy Flow Elbows in their Friday One-Dayer, winning by eight wickets in a game that lasted less than two hours despite a batter-friendly surface.

The Easy Flow Elbows were skittled for 65 in just 18.5 overs. Stu Carmody (3/11 off 4.5) Mac Herrick (3/22 off 5) starred, while Kirk Williams (2/16 off 5) and Rhys Paul (2/10 off 4) supported well.

The run chase started with Sol Nightingale falling in the first ball, followed quickly by Eddie Lombard. However, Graham Tunney (24 off 12) and Alik Tiny (42 off 18) raced down the small target in only 5.5 overs, ensuring everyone was safely home in time for lunch on a humid day at Westies Park.

The victory put Westies clear at the top of VI.102. Westies host KartRacing next Friday for their next OD fixture.

Westies Cricket Club have raced six points clear at the top of BT20 division VII.890, maintaining their 100% record with three victories this week.

On Tuesday, an unbeaten 231-run opening stand between Emerson Noriega (139*) and Sol Nightingale (87*) set the platform for the bowlers, who restricted Plymouth Pumas to 6/150 in reply.

On Wednesday, Alik Tiny's unbeaten 106 and an 82 from the debuting Graham Tunney helped Westies to 1/234. The Squad could only manage 7/154 in reply. Steven Gatsha impressively spun his way to 4/30.

On Thursday, Westies once again set the target, this time scoring 3/217. Eddie Lombard top scored with 80, and Steven Gatsha was unbeaten on 61 off 27 balls. Robyn Mceverley impressed in a rare outing, finishing with 2/13 as Belmont XI were restricted to 7/133.

Sol Nightingale hit his first One Day century in his career as Westies Cricket Club dominated Amity Drive in the OD VI.102 League on Friday.

After Amity Drive set 163 in their innings, the 17-year-old top order batter demolished their bowling attack with a stunning 104 not out from only 49 balls, reaching the milestone with the penultimate delivery of the innings. He smashed 11 boundaries and 4 sixes in his furious onslaught.

New signing Ken Bancroft also impressed on debut, finishing his innings unbeaten on 57 from 32 balls, and took 3 for 24 off five overs as he opened the bowling with Kirk Williams. Their opening combination left Amity Drive in all sorts of trouble at 5 for 63 in perfect conditions for batting.

In unexpected family reunions, Amos Ojwang, the son of noted lothario and club legend, Obadaiah "The Wang" Ojwang has signed for the club. Initially just trying to find his father, Amos arrived at club HQ and was directed to the nets by The Big Wang himself, where The Little Wang proceeded to fire bullets of his own into the rough outside off stump troubling no less than the Fanie. Unfortunately it turned out he wanted a family reunion, not a job. Undeterred, Wavell organised a transfer from Bajan Shrimpers to the Heroes with immediate effect for a tidy sum. Amos will add further depth to the clubs already healthy spinning stocks and with further training should become a game day regular if he can keep his focus on cricket and not emulating his father's off-field exploits.

NextGen Edge CC today confirmed that the senior squad at NextGen Founders Park is settled for the foreseeable future, with a clear focus on results and development.

Winning each of their first seven competitive matches - two First Class, two OD, and three Cup victories - Rangers management are buoyed by the early successes of their rebuild.

Skipper Claassens, the 27-year-old bowling all-rounder who scored an unbeaten 49 in his first knock, hit a match-winning 111 to guide the Rangers to their second First Class victory, becoming the first Ranger to do so.

The unbeaten run so far has surprised even Moonee Ponds HQ who are sticking to cliches when questioned about their quality early form. While the lid is firmly fixed publicly, morale is building among members who are quietly talking up silverware chances.
